Ever since he was in Gymnasium, he actively participated in student events. The British authorities arrested and imprisoned him for three months. After he was released, he continued to actively participate in EOKA by distributing, among others, leaflets in the surrounding villages, writing slogans and spying on British agents. In 1958, Andreas Avraamides, along with Andreas Ellinas, were ordered to transfer bombs which had been made to support the teams of EOKA in the Kakopetria \u2013 Galata sector.
